Painting and drawing in Tuscany

Sat. 4th May - Sat. 11th May 2013

Sat. 28th September - Sat. 6th October 2013

The Villa del Monte occupies a commanding position with panoramic views over the hills between Certaldo, the birth place of Boccaccio, and San Gimignano. A sweeping estate in the classical style and with origins dating back to the Middle Ages, it is now owned by the Princess Maria Ruffo di Calabria.
Each spring and autumn it is also the venue for a painting and drawing workshop.

The beautifully maintained Italian gardens, two large terraces, a pergola with a view of San Gimignano and a swimming pool are all at our disposal. In the evenings we can look forward to traditional Tuscan dishes prepared by the skilled hand of our cook Susanne. Her specialities include chicken chasseur with delicious bay leaf pancakes, zucchini fritters and pasta with sausage and pumpkin. And, of course, dinner would not be complete without a glass of Chianti from the surrounding vineyards.

Models are available for nude studies in the mornings. After lunch, students venture out into the natural surroundings to draw scenes of the Tuscan landscape. On two or three afternoons we will produce portraits of local residents. The free day can be used for trips to Siena, Florence or Pisa.

Costs for accommodation, half-board and tuition: from € 855 (single supplement € 100 - 150)
Non-painting partners are welcome to join us. The price for them is reduced by € 300.
